What a multi-day tour with Bruny Island is
These are Tassie Tours bundles of day tours from Hobart, sold as one booking. One day is the
island. The others go to Port Arthur on the Tasman Peninsula, and on the longer bundles to the
mountain, a wildlife sanctuary and the southern forests.
Each day starts from Hobart, and no fare lists a night's accommodation; the 4-day fare says
outright that it is not included. Book your own bed within 5 km of the centre for the hotel
pickup. You pay for
one booking instead of three or four, and the entry fees are paid.
Why choose a multi-day tour
It costs less per day
The 2-day tour works out at about $112 a day, the 3-day at $114 and
the 4-day at $115. A single guided day on the island costs $130.
The entry fees are paid
Port Arthur's admission is in every fare. The 2-day adds the harbour cruise, and the 4-day
adds the cave tour and the treetop airwalk.
You plan once
One booking covers the pickups, the guides and the order of the days. You arrive, and the
rest is arranged.
Multi-day tours vs separate day tours
Here is a bundle beside booking the island on its own, from the listings' own figures.

If one day on the island is enough, the Bruny Island food tours and Bruny Island walking tours give you more of it than a
bundle's island day does.
What you get, and what you don't
- 2-day: hotel pickup within 5 km of the centre, a guide, Port Arthur with
its harbour cruise, and the Parks Pass for the island's national park.
- 3-day: hotel pickup, a guide, the wildlife sanctuary and Port Arthur. The
park pass is listed, but the listing also tells you to buy one; ask at booking.
- 4-day: hotel pickup, the sanctuary, Port Arthur, the cave tour, the
airwalk and park passes. The days may run in a different order.
- None of them: lunch, drinks or the lighthouse climb.
Four days, with the southern forests
The mountain and a wildlife sanctuary, the island, Port Arthur, then a treetop airwalk and a cave tour, with entry fees and park passes paid.

Planning a multi-day tour
- Budget: $224 to $460 a person, plus your nights in Hobart and
lunches.
- Start early: the days leave at 7:30am from the Davey Street information
centre or a nearby stop.
- Check the Saturday: the 4-day bundle's Hobart day runs on Saturdays only.
Build your dates around it.
- Keep your refund window: all three refund in full up to 24 hours
before.
Short on days? Our one-day plan fits the island into a single trip from Hobart.
Who should choose something else
- If you want the island for more than a day. Every bundle gives it one day.
Stay on the island instead, with the help of our guide to the island without a tour.
- If you have a car. Port Arthur and the island are both a drive from Hobart,
and with your own wheels you set your own hours.
- If the lighthouse climb matters. The bundles stop at the grounds. The
Bruny Island food tours include the only climb.
- If you want the sea cliffs. No bundle includes the island's cruise. It is
on Bruny Island boat tours.
Frequently asked questions
Where do you sleep on a multi-day tour?
In a bed you book yourself. Every day starts from Hobart, no fare lists accommodation, and the 4-day fare says it is not included. Stay within 5 km of the centre for the hotel pickup.
Do the days run in a fixed order?
Not always. The 4-day bundle says its tours run on their own and the order may differ, and its Hobart day runs on Saturdays only. Plan your arrival around that day.
Is lunch included on the multi-day tours?
No. All three leave lunch and drinks to you. The guides stop where you can buy food.
Can I combine Bruny Island with Port Arthur?
Yes. Tassie Tours sells 2-, 3- and 4-day tours from Hobart that spend a day on the island and a day at Port Arthur. The 4-day tour adds the Tahune Airwalk and Hastings Caves.
Is the parks pass included?
On the Bruny Island Safaris days, the Tassie Tours day, the private Discovery day and the 2- and 4-day tours, yes. The 3-day tour and the shore excursion list a pass and also tell you to buy one, so check at booking. Elsewhere, buy your own if you drive.
Can I cancel for free?
Most fares refund in full up to 24 hours before the start. The hike needs two days' notice, and the private charter is non-refundable and cannot be changed. Each card states its own terms.
